Mohammed Farooq, former general manager of IBM operations cloud for hybrid multi-cloud management, has joined Hypergiant Industries as global chief technology officer and a member of its board of directors.
The 25-year software industry veteran will help develop Hypergiant's artificial intelligence technology, distributed cloud service as part of the firm's software and AI cloud portfolio expansion efforts, the company said Tuesday.
In his previous role, Farooq helped transform IBM's global technology services business into a provider of hybrid and managed cloud computing services.
He came to Big Blue upon its 2015 acquisition of cloud software provider Gravitant, which he previously led as chairman and CEO.
Farooq served as Texas' CTO for seven years earlier in his career.
