Elbit Systems of America has incorporated data from Sintela-built linear ground detection systems into the U.S. Border Patrol's TORCH command and control platform.
Sintela's Onyx LGDS is designed with fiber-optics sensing technology that works to detect threats in a surface or subterranean environment and adds a security layer to the U.S. border wall infrastructure, Elbit Systems of America said Monday.
Joel Friederich, vice president of C4I and homeland security systems at Elbit Systems of America, said the TORCH platform seeks to help Border Patrol agents perform national security missions with the system's autonomous and artificial intelligence applications.
The company secured a prime contract to integrate long-range surveillance systems into the border wall's southern segment as part of the Integrated Fixed Towers program.
Friederich noted that Elbit Systems of America serves as the exclusive distributor of Sintela's sensor product in the U.S.
