In-Q-Tel has invested in New York-based software developer nTopology in a move to help bring the latter's digital design and engineering platform to the government sector.
Ryan O’Hara, technical director for nTopology's aerospace and defense business, wrote in a blog post published Tuesday that the investment agreement is geared toward supporting the initiatives of IQT affiliates within the national security and intelligence communities.
The partnership seeks to offer the nTop Platform, designed to help users manage collaborative production workflows and process design, manufacturing and simulation data.
“We are thrilled to be working with nTopology and are excited about the potential their technology can bring to our government partners as they continue to unlock the power of additive manufacturing,†said Steve Taub, partner for investments at IQT.
NTopology also offers various toolkits for lightweighting, architected materials, topology optimization, additive manufacturing and design analysis to the aerospace and defense, medical, automotive, commercial and education sectors.
