Boeing CEO David Calhoun said he believes the defense industry will continue to receive support from the U.S. government regardless of whoever wins the U.S. presidential elections in November, CNBC reported Wednesday.

“I think both candidates, at least in my view, appear globally oriented and interested in the defense of our country and I believe they’ll support the industries,” Calhoun said Wednesday during a media call. “They’ll do it in different ways and they’ll have different teams for sure, but I don’t think we’re going to take a position on one being better than the other.”

Boeing’s defense and space business recorded $6.6B in revenue during the second quarter of 2020, which is on par with the prior-year period’s sales.

Calhoun said he does not expect a potential shift in Congress to have an impact on the defense industry because lawmakers “tend to come together” when it comes to job creation policies.
