Merivis, a nonprofit organization that trains military veterans in Salesforce cloud technology administration, has received a $100K grant from Accenture and its federal arm to offer training services in San Antonio, Texas.

The grant includes pro-bono support for Merivis-facilitated programs meant to hone the technical skills of former service members over a five-week period, Accenture said Tuesday.

The program is designed to educate veterans on Salesforce-based integration, maintenance and workflow automation.

Salesforce authorized use of its free online platform Trailhead to support activities such one-on-one coaching, professional development activities and webinars.

George Franz, managing director and defense cybersecurity lead at Accenture Federal Services, said the training program  helps veterans develops skills they can apply to the private sector.

Franz added the company aims to hire 5K veterans by the end of the year.

Merivis started to provide training in the San Antonio area last month with two groups of participants and plans to offer more comprehensive administrator training for additional cohorts in the fall.

The nonprofit is beneficiary of the Accenture-sponsored Veterans Day Memorial Walk.
