L3Harris Technologies has introduced a man-portable unmanned underwater vehicle that is equipped with a suite of portable sensors and designed to travel at speeds up to 4 knots.

The Iver4 580 UUV features a 200-meter depth system composed of sealed, hot-swappable battery sections and a small-mission footprint that allows rapid deployment from any ship, L3Harris said Wednesday.

The underwater vessel measures 82 inches in length and 5.8 inches in diameter.

According to the company, operators can download onboard sensor data from the vehicle at a gigabit Ethernet speed rate to reduce mission downtime.

Sean Stackley, president of L3Harris' integrated mission systems unit and a former Wash100 inductee, said the company developed the UUV offering to support underwater missions of military and commercial customers.

Iver4 580 is built for anti-submarine, seabed and mine warfare, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance operations.

The company will present its new platform at a June 24 virtual event.
