Robert Potter, vice president of signals and ground system technology at Kratos Defense and Security Solutions, has been named a director of Satcoms Innovation Group, which aims to encourage discussions to identify challenges and opportunities for the sector.
He has supported the group over the years through his participation in SIG-hosted conferences and other events as a speaker, the organization said Wednesday.
Potter has helped develop radio frequency network management offerings at Kratos. He has gained experience in RF, radio communications and hardware/firmware design over the years.
His industry career also includes time at SAT Corp., Maxon Europe and Marconi Instruments.
“At SIG we have always valued Bob’s technical knowledge and support, so we are so pleased to welcome him as a director as we forge a new path since our restructuring earlier this year," said Helen Weedon, managing director of SIG.
Other SIG directors are Mark Steel, senior director for user terminal development at Inmarsat; and Andreas Voigt, global communication systems manager at Eutelsat.
