Julian Setian, president and CEO of SOS International and a 2020 Wash100 award winner, said the company’s engineers started discussing sales channels with their counterparts at Applications Technology, a McLean, Va.-based developer of artificial intelligence-based speech recognition systems, days after SOSi made an investment in the latter company, Inside Defense reported Tuesday.
"We have a very short orientation period," Setian told the publication in an interview. "We already kind of know each other's capabilities."
Through the investment, SOSi has become an exclusive reseller of AppTek platforms to federal, local and state government agencies.
Setian said SOSi will help government clients better understand the benefits of AppTek’s technology platforms.
"What we're hoping to do is drive the market by putting next-generation technologies in front of our customers," he added.
