Dave Furneaux, an active member of the board of directors at Virsec Systems since 2014, has been named CEO of the San Jose, Calif-based security technology provider.
He succeeds Atiq Raza, who will continue to serve as executive chairman, and helped drive Virsec's strategy to transform cybersecurity through internal application defense, the company said Tuesday.
The three-decade entrepreneur and venture investor established investment companies Kodiak Venture Partners and BlueIO. His significant investments include Watchfire, Skystone, Application Security and Aironet.
Virsec maintains a portfolio of products and service offerings designed to help protect applications in the government, defense, infrastructure, financial services, health care and technology sectors.
