BAE Systems has been awarded a $58.7M sole-source contract to build and test combined interrogator transponders for F/A-18 and EA-18G Growler planes of the U.S. Navy and Canada.

The company will provide 239 RT-1763C/D AN/APX-111(V) Mode S capable devices plus 397 replaceable assemblies through the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, the Department of Defense said Wednesday.

Eighty-four percent of contract work will occur in Greenlawn, N.Y., and the remaining 15 percent will take place in Austin, Texas. DoD expects the company to complete services by December 2025.

BAE offers CIT systems as part of its identification friend or foe products suite designed to help military users recognize friendly forces.
