Northrop Grumman has added a New York-based company to the supplier network for the production of a new electronic warfare system.
Northrop said Tuesday it selected CPI Aero to supply pod structure and assembly of the Next Generation Jammer Low Band Capability Block 1.
NGJ-LB is designed to equip Boeing-made EA-18G Growler aircraft with an airborne electronic attack ability. Northrop proposed the new jammer in January.
Doug McCrosson, president and CEO at CPI Aero, said his company’s structures and assemblies have been used in multiple Navy aircraft such as the Growler and the Northrop-made E-2D Hawkeye.
Northrop has been providing the Navy with EW technology for years and continues to augment these products with artificial intelligence and software-driven systems.
