Charles River Analytics has secured funds from the U.S. Army to create user interfaces designed to help military commanders process and visualize battlespace information from multiple data sources.
The company said Tuesday it seeks to combine visualization and collaboration tools in an effort to build the Operational Representations and Interactive Overlay Environment.
“Currently, systems for tactical decision makers take a one-size-fits-all approach, which complicates workflows and increases burden on tactical commanders,â€Â said Stephanie Kane, a Charles River Analytics senior scientist and principal investigator for the ORION project.
Kane added that the system will include human-centered interfaces for military users to access spacific mission data.
