Akima Subsidiary, Lynxnet, Secures Contract to Provide Support Services to NSWCDD; Duncan Greene Quoted

Akima has announced that its subsidiary, Lynxnet, has secured a potential five-year, $25.7M contract to provide professional and operational support services to the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division, the company reported on Wednesday. 

“We are proud to build on our long-standing relationship supporting the Naval Surface Warfare Centers,” said Duncan Greene, President of Akima’s Mission Systems, Engineering & Technology Group. 

Under the contract, Akima will support the service branches critical support services. The company will focus primarily on program and project management, process improvement, quality control and technical documentation. 

The company will additionally focus on command evaluation, office of counsel, accounting, financial systems, human resources, information technology-cybersecurity administration and property management functions.

The Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division has continued to provide comprehensive and dedicated support to the Navy in the form of research, development, test and evaluation, analysis, systems engineering, integration and certification of complex naval warfare systems and fleet support. 

“This award further demonstrates the world-class capabilities offered by the Akima portfolio of companies,” added Greene.

In addition to this $25.7 million NSWCDD award, an Akima subsidiary has received a potential five-year, $13.6 million contract to help manage a Department of Agriculture (USDA) research facility in July 2019.

Sunik will provide logistics, maintenance, operations and facility support services at the USDA’s Eastern Regional Research Center (ERRC). ERRC holds the National Historic Chemical Landmark designation and employs scientists who conduct developmental, applied and fundamental research of agricultural commodities.
