Northrop Grumman has incorporated an updated digital cockpit into the integrated avionics platform of the U.S. Army’s UH-60V Black Hawk aircraft.
The integrated avionics suite is designed to mitigate pilot workload and equip Black Hawk with situational awareness capacities, the company said Wednesday.
The platform will also work to provide operational employment and common training features through a pilot-vehicle interface.
“It is designed with a secure, open architecture that provides greater mission flexibility and a rapid upgrade path,†said James Conroy, vice president of navigation, targeting and survivability at Northrop.
The Army recently concluded initial operational tests and evaluation efforts for the UH-60V helicopter.
