Microsoft Offers AccountGuard Threat Notification Service to Health Care Providers - top government contractors - best government contracting event

Microsoft has made its threat notification service available for free to hospitals, clinics, medical device, pharmaceutical and life sciences companies, clinicians and other health care providers offering front-line services during the COVID-19 pandemic.

AccountGuard is designed to monitor threat actors targeting personal email accounts and enterprise mailboxes and send alerts to users to help them counter cyber attacks, Tom Burt, corporate vice president for customer security and trust at Microsoft, wrote in a blog post published Tuesday.

The service can provide health care providers best practices and security guidance, access to cybersecurity workshops and webinars and recommendations for remediation if a cyber attack is confirmed.

Microsoft will also offer AccountGuard to human rights and humanitarian organizations worldwide at no cost during the pandemic to help protect their systems from nation-state attacks and other cyber threats.

“AccountGuard is available to organizations using Office 365 for business email and extends additional security to the personal accounts of their front line workers who use Microsoft’s consumer email services such as Outlook.com and Hotmail,” Burt wrote.
