L3Harris Technologies has developed an updated version of the Counter Communications System designed to help the U.S. Space Force jam adversaries’ satellite communications, C4ISRNET reported Wednesday.
“It’s a deployable system basically for counter communications. Think of it as a platform that various custom missions run on,†Praveen Kurian, general manager of L3Harris’ space control division, said of CSS Block 10.2.
CCS Block 10.2 is a transportable electronic warfare platform that reached initial operating capability in March.
L3Harris is developing the next-generation of the CCS platform, called Meadowlands, under a $72M contract awarded in January. Kurian said Meadowlands production is expected to kick off in fiscal 2021.
