Maxar Technologies has secured a multiyear agreement of an undisclosed sum from Vulcan to extend the latter’s subscription on a cloud-based geospatial intelligence offering developed to enable maritime domain awareness.
Maxar said Tuesday Vulcan employs the SecureWatch tool to trace illicit and unregulated fishing activities in support of law enforcement efforts.
Vulcan began subscribing to EarthWatch, now part of SecureWatch, in 2019. The firm utilizes real-time satellite data from SecureWatch to notify maritime compliance users of any suspicious vessel activity through the Skylight service.
SecureWatch enables users to access Maxar’s repository of synthetic aperture radar data and 110-petabyte satellite images.
