Lockheed Martin has reached a new milestone in the F-35 program with the delivery of the 500th unit.
The company said Tuesday its 500th aircraft under the program is an F-35A conventional-type unit assigned to Burlington Air National Guard Base.
The program has also reached 250K flight hours across operational, testing, training and international F-35 activities.
“These milestones are a testament to the talent and dedication of the joint government, military and industry teams,†said Greg Ulmer, vice president and general manager of the F-35 program at Lockheed Martin.
Nine countries employ the F-35, with over 985 pilots trained to use the aircraft.
The company delivered its 134th F-35 aircraft in December.
