Former AECOM Mgmt Services Group Launches as Independent Technical Services Firm ‘Amentum’; John Vollmer Quoted

The former management services business of AECOM has adopted the name Amentum following its acquisition by private equity firms American Securities and Lindsay Goldberg.

Germantown, Md.-based Amentum said Tuesday it aims to provide information technology, mission assurance and intelligence support to U.S. federal agencies, allied governments and commercial clients as an independent company.

“Amentum builds upon a 116-year heritage of safety, operational excellence and delivering on our promises and honoring our commitments,” John Vollmer, CEO of Amentum and a 2020 Wash100 award winner.

“We are excited to continue this legacy as an independent company and continue to deliver outstanding performance for our customers’ critical missions,” Vollmer added.

The new entity has more than 20K employees and also offers mission support and sustainment, threat mitigation, facility maintenance, nuclear and environmental remediation, strategic capabilities engineering and range services to government and commercial customers in the U.S. and overseas.
