TYSONS CORNER, VA, January 7, 2020 — Leidos (NYSE: LDOS) is moving to advance its government market position through its proposed acquisition of applied research and national security services provider Dynetics for approximately $1.65B cash, GovCon Wire reported Dec. 18.
Leidos said Dec. 17 it expects to add hypersonics, directed energy and small-glide munition programs as well as more than 2K engineering and technical professionals upon closing of the deal. Both parties aim to wrap up the transaction within this quarter.
“The addition of Dynetics will significantly increase our capabilities for rapid prototyping and agile system integration and production, enhancing our overall offerings and services to customers,†said Roger Krone, chairman and CEO of Leidos.
Krone, 2019 Wash100 winner, added the combination will "deepen our identity as a national security systems provider."
