MacDill AF Base Engages Small Businesses in Pitch-Day Event - top government contractors - best government contracting event

The U.S. Air Force awarded $325K in contracts to small businesses during a pitch-day event at MacDill Air Force Base.

The event in Tampa, Fla., marked the 6th Contracting Squadron second pitch day and supports USAF’s innovation initiatives, the service branch said Monday.

During the pitch day, contractors proposed solutions to existing issues and promoted new technology. Selected companies received half of the award’s monetary amount during the event.

Jace Anders, flight chief of the 6th CONS, said his team obligated payments faster to accelerate the procurement and delivery of products and services.

“We want to make sure that small-business owners get a fair opportunity to get on board with government acquisitions,” the flight chief added.
