David Thomas, director of business development and strategy at STS International, has been appointed to serve as vice chair of the National Defense Industrial Association’s robotics division.

The executive will work with both government and commercial sectors towards the development of new warfighter technologies, STS said Tuesday.

He brings experience in the areas of signal intelligence and unmanned systems, having held roles at The Mistral Group and iRobot.

Thomas handles cybersecurity, drone payloads and edge computing in his current role at STS.

“NDIA is critical to the defense and business industry in its role to monitor, advocate and educate U.S. Government stakeholders,” said Thomas.
