TYSONS CORNER, VA, December 4, 2019 — Jay “Scott†Goldstein, mobilization assistant to the undersecretary of the U.S. Air Force, was promoted from the rank of brigadier general to major general, GovCon Wire reported Wednesday.
Goldstein told GovCon Wire in an email the Senate confirmed his military rank promotion Nov. 21, following his nomination by President Donald Trump.
Goldstein initially served in the U.S. Army before he moved to the Air Force in 1990. In his current role, he supports oversight of USAF’s $190B annual budget and provides direction on global enterprise matters related to strategy and policy development, human resource and risk management, technology investment and weapons procurement.
He has earned 15 Air Force Scientific Achievement Awards during his work as a developmental engineer and held leadership positions in the private sector.
