John David, director of national security science and technology practice at LMI, discussed in an interview published Thursday about the company’s efforts to help government clients keep pace with the changing threat landscape for weapons of mass destruction.
“Our customers must be engaged in the here and now, focused on what they have to do to meet their missions today,†David said. “We focus downstream, examining science and technology developments through the lens of their potential impact on the [counter WMD] mission space.â€
He cited the democratization of biotechnology and its impact on the CWMD mission space and how a team of experts in software, data science, logistics and digital architectures supports the company’s national security S&T practice.
When asked about the qualities he looks for in potential candidates, David said he wants to work with individuals with mission focus. “Someone who can put themselves in the customer’s shoes, see the need, see the long-term goal, and appreciate it’s going to be a long drive,†he added.
