Google’s cloud platform has achieved high-status authority to operate for 17 products under the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program.
The ATO allows GCP for use in security-demanding activities with wider access, boosting the government’s capacity to run high-classification civilian workloads, Mike Daniels, vice president of public sector for Google Cloud, wrote in a blog post published Thursday.
The FedRAMP program aims to standardize the security of cloud products used by the federal government. Google has worked to comply with government-imposed security standards such as those under the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
“We look forward to continuing to help federal, state and local government agencies innovate, and will pursue additional global certifications to meet their needs,†Daniels said in a statement.
Google Cloud Platform also now has moderate-level FedRAMP approval for a total of 64 products across 17 cloud regions.
