Information technology firm Expanse has made it into the approved products list under the Department of Homeland Security’s primary cybersecurity effort.
The company said Wednesday its Expander and Behavior products are now allowed for use under the Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation program.
Expander is designed to help users detect and track all of their internet assets to mitigate risks of cyber attacks, and Behavior works to surveil and analyze communication activities across assets.
Both products are made to help organizations observe cybersecurity in cloud and on-premise systems, and allow for the identification of activities, actors and possible defense approaches concerning a network.
Expander and Behavior build on the Expanse Internet Operations Management Platform, a system that identifies vulnerabilities of internet-connected devices.
Matt Kraning, chief technology officer at Expanse, said the two products’ CDM approval allows agencies to address gaps that firewall-focused systems lack, “and the need to address the increasing number of bad actors who look for ways to break into networks from outside the firewall.â€
