Cubic has introduced a rugged graphics processing unit module built to process data and support analytics at the tactical edge in field-based operations.

DTECH M3-SE-GPU is supported by NVIDIA's JetPack software development kit for artificial intelligence, neural network and machine learning applications, Cubic said Monday.

The small-form-factor module design allows customers to update deployed M3-SE servers and networks without requiring hardware replacement.

"Edge devices and sensors are generating massive amounts of data that must be processed in real time at the edge to be more relevant to current mission timelines," said Mike Barthlow, senior vice president and general manager of rugged internet of things at Cubic's mission solutions business.

The company developed its GPU technology to complement existing company-built compute platforms.
