CAE plans to demonstrate its new continuum and virtual reality training system with the T-6 operational flight trainer during the Interservice/Industry, Training, Simulation and Education Conference this week, Defense News reported Monday.
The I/ITSEC 2019 event will feature the Sprint VR trainer hardware and the TRAXX Academy courseware plus software.
Phillipe Perey, head of technology at CAE's defense and security business, said the company aims to offer domestic and international military organizations a training package based on the Pilot Training Next principles crafted by the U.S. Air Force.
He added that CAE plans to seek feedback from the Air Force on the two new offerings in order to build these out into a tailored product.
The company tweaked the service branch's PTN program kit in an effort to develop a "self-paced learning environment" for the Sprint platform, according to Perey.
