The U.S. Army is slated to host an industry day on Jan. 23 to discuss details in line with a planned soldier-and-squad framework for the service branch.
According to a notice posted Dec. 6 on the Beta SAM website, the event seeks to foster collaborative efforts between industry and the government to develop a set of requirements and interface control documents for the Adaptive Squad Architecture concept technology.
The control documents will focus on power management, physical equipment interfaces and data management.
Interested vendors have until Jan. 17 to register for the industry day.
ASA will work to help rapidly incorporate capabilities to warfighters in a move to augment lethality on the battlefield. It is also intended to decrease the load carried by soldiers through the consolidation of functionalities in a single device.
