Techstars has launched a virtual program with the goal of connecting entrepreneurs with some governmental organizations for information exchange and mentorship to innovate new space-based technology platforms.
The company said Wednesday it partnered with the U.S. Air Force, Norway's space agency and the Dutch and Norwegian ministries of defense to run the Techstars Allied Space Accelerator.
Claudia Reuter, general manager of Techstars' operations in Americas East, said the accelerator offers an opportunity for the company to work with founders to tackle space-related innovations such as situational awareness, data analytics, communications, satellite servicing and artificial intelligence.
The program will primarily take place online and will also include three one-week visits with the startups’ public sector mentors for collaboration and learning purposes.
Interested parties can submit applications through March 3. The 13-week accelerator is scheduled to occur between June and September 2020.
