A space-dedicated information sharing and analysis center will be helping the U.S. facilitate cyber content exchanges across the country’s space industry, C4ISRNet reported Friday.
A partnership between Kratos, the Science and Technology Partnership Forum and the Trump Administration formed the first space ISAC 18 months ago, and the ISAC held its first board meeting on Thursday at the CyberSat19 conference in Reston, Va.
Frank Backes, a senior vice president at Kratos, said ISACs are made to address critical infrastructure, something that the government did not formally consider space to be, until the collaborative agreement.
“Because these ISACs are sector-focused and member-driven, they can select the specific cyberthreat information and perform analysis on what is particularly relevant to the industry in which the members operate,†Jaisha Wray, cybersecurity director of the National Security Council, said at the event.
