Rolls-Royce has secured a potential 10-year, $67M contract to supply the Defense Logistics Agency with materials needed for T-56 engine updates.
The effort aims to update T-56 engines from series 3.0 to 3.5 in support of the U.S. Air Force and Navy, the Department of Defense said Friday.
Work under contract’s five-year base period will take place in Indiana through Sept. 30, 2024. The contract also has a five-year option.
DLA Aviation will finance the contract via defense appropriated funds allotted for fiscal 2020 through 2024.
The T-56 is a turboprop engine that supports civilian and military aircraft such as Lockheed Martin-made C-130 Hercules.
