Raytheon has secured a potential five-year, $86.8M contract from the U.S. Air Force to integrate a follow-on communications platform for use by the U.S. president and other national senior leaders.
The company will be the integrator of the Presidential and National Voice Conferencing system under the cost-plus-fixed-fee contract, which runs through September 2024, the Department of Defense said Friday.
PNVC is designed to build on the Milstar Survivable Emergency Conferencing Network and address voice quality, latency, availability and conference management requirements.
Aside from the president, other users of the new technology will include the defense secretary, Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman and combatant commanders.
The Family of Advanced Beyond Line-of-Sight Terminals Contracting office at Hanscom AF Base is the contracting activity and the service branch will obligate $2M at the time of award.
Work under the sole-source contract will take place in Marlborough, Mass.
