TYSONS CORNER, VA, November 14, 2019 — NVIDIA (Nasdaq: NVDA) will provide an artificial intelligence technology for the U.S. Postal Service to process and manage package data at nearly 200 post offices nationwide, GovCon Wire reported Nov. 6.

The agency ordered NVIDIA-powered systems, which use V100 Tensor Core graphics processing units with  software built for AI model training, via a contract with Hewlett Packard Enterprise (NYSE: HPE), NVIDIA said Nov. 5.

The new platform will undergo a trial phase this year and is expected to reach full operational status next year.

“Postal Service’s adoption of AI demonstrates how this powerful technology can improve an excellent service that we rely on every day," said Anthony Robbins, vice president of NVIDIA’s federal sector business and a 2019 Wash100 winner.
