Noblis and the University of Texas at San Antonio have partnered to advance research and development of cybersecurity platforms through the university’s National Security Collaboration Center.
The company said Thursday it will apply expertise to explore approaches for automated analytics, attack detection and response automation, machine learning-based threat identification and government systems security compliance.
“This research is focused on ensuring the trustworthiness of machine learning systems,†said Jordin Cohen, vice president of Noblis’s defense and homeland security group.
“Without that trust and widespread adoption, the realization of the benefits of these systems will continue to be delayed,” Cohen added.
UTSA established the center to facilitate government-industry-academia collaboration to help protect U.S. defense, intelligence and security networks.
The company has a sponsored research program and employed interns from the university who became full-time workers.
“We have developed tools and technologies that are force multipliers for critical cyber missions, helping government agencies provide cybersecurity at scale, with speed,†said Amr ElSawy, president and CEO of Noblis and a 2019 Wash100 awardee.
