Microsoft has unveiled a new offering that will bring Azure management capabilities and services to any infrastructure.
Customers may access Azure products through Windows, Linux and Kubernetes clusters within cloud, edge and on-premise environments through the Azure Arc suite, Julia White, vice president at Microsoft Azure, said in a blog post published Monday.
Azure Arc will enable developers to build, configure and deploy containerized applications via GitOps-based configuration management features. In addition, the suite also houses a centralized role-based access control function for the implementation of cloud security tools.
“Through our partnership with Microsoft we hope to deliver a true as a Service experience across environments to help manage both the databases and the underlying infrastructure, and offer a consistent experience across on-premises and the cloud,†said Erik Vogel, vice president for customer success, hybrid cloud software and services at Hewlett Packard Enterprise.
