Maryanne Lavan, senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary of Lockheed Martin, has been appointed to the board of directors at the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity.
She is among the four new board members of LCLD, which aims to promote diversity across the legal sector, the council said Tuesday.
Lavan has been with Lockheed since 1990 and is responsible for Bethesda, Md.-based company’s law department. She contributed to LCLD’s Fellows and Success in Law School Mentoring Program as well as hosted its Fellows Alumni Regional Roundtable and sustainable partnership program.
The council named Ellen Moran Dwyer, executive committee chair at law firm Crowell and Moring, to succeed Laura Stein as the organization chair effective Jan. 1. HP Chief Legal Officer Laura Stein has been appointed LCLD chair-elect.
Other new council board members are:
- Deneen Donnley, SVP and incoming general counsel of Consolidated Edison of New York
- Thomas O’Neill, SVP and general counsel of Exelon
- Mitchell Zuklie, chairman and CEO of Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe
