Kratos Defense and Security Solutions has been honored by Aviation Week Network in recognition of a tactical unmanned aerial vehicle designed for hostile environments.
The XQ-58A Valkyrie UAV received the Laureate Award for Technology and Innovation in the Defense Sector for 2020, the company said Friday.
Built in partnership with the Air Force Research Laboratory through the Low Cost Attritable Strike Demonstrator program, the Valkyrie underwent three flight tests in March, June and October.
“Kratos, along with our AFRL partner, is honored to be recognized and receive Aviation Week’s prestigious Laureate Award,†said Steve Fendley, president of Kratos’ unmanned systems group.
