Kent Walker, senior vice president for global affairs at Google, said the company collaborates with different agencies within the Department of Defense on several technology projects and plans to expand work with the Pentagon, Defense One reported Wednesday.

Google’s work with DoD’s Joint Artificial Intelligence Center includes business automation, cybersecurity and health care and its partnership with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency focuses on AI and efforts to “progress the operation of hardware,” Walker said at the National Security Commission on Artificial Intelligence conference.

“As we take on those kind of things, we are eager to do more, [and are] pursuing actively additional certifications” to offer cloud services for classified data, he added.

Walker also shared his insights on the Defense Innovation Board’s recommended principles for ethical use of AI.
