The National Academy of Public Administration has partnered with IBM’s Center for the Business of Government to establish a center that will focus on promoting agile principles to help the government address management challenges and restore public trust.
Dan Chenok, executive director of IBM CBG, and NAPA CEO Terry Gerton wrote in a joint blog entry posted Thursday the Agile Government Center will include representatives from the public sector, academe and industry who will work to create, share and execute agile government principles as well as provide case studies of programs and policies,
AGC's proposed principles cover evidence-based performance metrics, customer-driven operations, diversity of thought and rapid service delivery.
G. Edward DeSeve, a visiting IBM CBG fellow and an academy fellow, will initially serve as head of the center.
According to Chenok and Gerton, the performance of AGC will be measured based on the number of government programs that have implemented principles to “improve customer involvement, improve performance, and increase satisfaction.â€
