Cloudera and Microsoft have partnered to offer an integrated data management platform designed to run in an Azure cloud environment.
The Cloudera Data Platform has a shared data experience feature that works to rapidly create a data lake to support applications like data engineering and machine learning, Cloudera said Wednesday.
CDP also includes self-service data analytics features and makes use of Azure tools encompassing data lake storage, resource management and Kubernetes open source services for scaling analytics workload.
Mick Hollison, chief marketing officer at Cloudera, said the joint offering serves as an integrated data platform that quickens the processing of data in compliance with security and privacy standards.
Arpan Shah, general manager for Azure marketing at Microsoft, said Azure is intended to provide Cloudera’s customers with the “freedom to build, manage, and deploy applications on a global, hybrid cloud offering.â€
CDP is currently accessible for preview purposes on Azure.
