Boeing has selected Kaman’s aerospace business segment to produce structural assemblies and wing control surfaces in line with the U.S. Air Force’s A-10 Thunderbolt Advanced Wing Continuation Kitting program.

Kaman said Friday it will manufacture inboard and outboard flaps, speed brake assemblies and slats to help Boeing update USAF’s A-10 Thunderbolt II fleet.

Boeing secured a potential 11-year, $999M contract to deliver 112 wing sets and spare kits for the aircraft.

“We have developed a great working relationship with Boeing to support our mutual Customer, the U.S. Air Force, in their efforts to extend the life of this iconic aircraft to 2030 and beyond,” said William Zmyndak, vice president and general manager at Kaman’s integrated structures and metallics group.
