Atlas Space Operations and space logistics company Aevum have agreed to collaborate on a U.S. Air Force-led space lift mission to increase the Department of Defense’s threat awareness through orbital launch services.
Both companies will work to deploy experimental satellites to low-Earth orbit as part of the Agile Small Launch Operational Normalizer mission under a $4.9M contract, Atlas said Monday.
ASLON-45 is meant to support the DoD Space Test Program and government agencies.
Under the partnership agreement, Atlas will provide Aevum access to a ground-based communications infrastructure that employs 31 antennas deployed worldwide.
The Freedom Ground Network complements an Aevum launch service offering intended to help partners and clients to flyautnomous unmanned lift vehicles.
