The Society of American Military Engineers has honored AECOM with the Industry Large Business Award in recognition of the firm’s efforts in supporting small businesses through internal training, subcontracting and outreach efforts.
AECOM said Monday it awarded $3.95B worth of subcontracts to over 57K businesses and guided 21 companies under six mentor-protege programs within the past five years.
The company also joined over 200 small business conferences and has supported industry-government engagement efforts.
“The recognition is a reminder that by supporting small business we help drive innovation, employment growth, and opportunity for everyone,†said Steve Morriss, president of design and consulting services at AECOM’s U.S. segment.
SAME is established to lead collaborative initiatives that will help validate and address national security infrastructure gaps.
