York Space Systems plans to expand its manufacturing facilities to accelerate the production of its S-CLASS satellite platform.
The company said Tuesday the move seeks to increase satellite production from 10 units to hundreds annually and speed up satellite delivery to government and commercial clients from a year to within four months.
"The York team has made incredible strides this year from the successful launch of our S-CLASS platform to being awarded missions for the United States Air Force—these milestones have put us on an exciting growth trajectory," said Dirk Wallinger, CEO of York Space Systems.Â
The company secured a contract from the Air Force to design, produce and test two spacecraft for launch into geosynchronous orbits.Â
