Suzy Sterner Promoted to BWXT SVP for Government Relations; Rex Geveden Quoted

BWX Technologies has promoted Suzy Sterner to senior vice president of government relations, effective immediately, the company announced on Tuesday.

Sterner will be responsible for BWXT’s relationship with the U.S. government, including the U.S. Congress and the executive branch as well as the company’s interface with government officials and stakeholders at the local, state and international levels.

“Suzy’s work has been outstanding since she joined the company earlier this year,” said Rex Geveden, president and CEO at BWXT. “We are extremely pleased for her to join the executive management team and continue to provide critical insight and counsel given our strong ties to our important government customers and stakeholders,” Geveden added.

Sterner joined BWXT as the vice president of government relations back in January. Previously, she served as the senior director of congressional relations at Northrop Grumman. She has also served as the vice president of government affairs for SAIC, and held senior director of congressional relations positions at Aerojet Rocketdyne as well as Exelis (now a part of L3Harris Technologies).

In addition, Sterner is a current member and past president of both the Women in Aerospace and the National Space Club. She also serves on the board of directors for the American Astronautical Society and is a member of U.S. Women in Nuclear.
