Chris Valentino, vice president of global cyber solutions at Northrop Grumman’s mission systems business, said the U.S. Army must integrate cyber technologies into traditional, physical missions, C4ISRNet reported Tuesday.

Valentino’s statement to C4ISRNet at the Association of the U.S. Army’s 2019 conference comes as the Department of Defense expands cyber activities across operations for all levels of command. This development will require commanders to visualize the cyber-ground environment to coordinate with deployed troops.

Integrated use of information warfare technologies must function to help the military form common operating pictures via analytics and sensor-based data, the report noted.

The Army may soon request industry input for the Cyber Situational Understanding, a platform that will work to provide commanders visualization of the cyber operational environment.
