Lockheed Martin has received a $42.7M delivery order to produce additional helicopter systems designed to help U.S. Army and foreign military sales customers detect, identify and locate radars.
The latest order for Modernized Radar Frequency Interferometers will increase the program's total potential value to $102M, the company said Monday.
MRFI is designed to operate with Apache attack helicopters and detect emitters of radar frequency signals to protect pilots from threats.
The company initially received a five-year, $60M production contract in late 2018 and will continue to produce interferometers through 2022 at a facility in Owego, N.Y.
Hamid Salim, vice president of advanced product solutions at Lockheed's rotary and mission systems business, said the MRFI program offers electronic warfare capability for the Army and coalition forces.
