Liberty Defense to Test Weapons Detection Tech With University of Wisconsin

Liberty Defense Holdings has partnered with the University of Wisconsin Police Department to test a weapons detection platform. The company said Thursday that it will conduct beta testing of the Hexwave weapons detector at the university’s campus in Madison.

Hexwave is designed to detect weapons and other threats via artificial intelligence and 3D radar imaging technologies. The system will allow security personnel to identify threats without the need for disrupting human movement.

“We are excited to have the opportunity to be the first campus to test this new technology,” said Kristen Roman, chief of police at UW-Madison.

Liberty Defense will commence beta testing later this year and continue in 2020. Hexwave beta tests will also take place at other locations such as the Maryland Stadium Authority’s Camden Yards Complex.
