Charles River Analytics has been applying its artificial intelligence technology to medical efforts since 2009 to develop and deliver surgical training systems, patient support, a first-aid training framework and other products under contract awards.

The company said Monday that its recent developments in the medical field include healthcare data analytics, sensors, mobile training tools and decision-support aids.

Charles River has contributed to various federal medical efforts, including the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency’s Warfighter Analytics using Smartphones for Health program. The WASH program aims to assess warfighter health via algorithms based on smartphone sensor data.

Charles River also recently worked on autonomous AI, operational medical assistance and AI-powered training technologies.

The company’s Automated Ruggedized Combat Casualty Care, or ARC3, system provides warfighters with life-saving and trauma care techniques across monitoring, diagnostics and treatment procedures.

Ensemble Prediction for Combat Casualty Care, or EPIC3, is a CRA-made mobile app that works to help medics address issues during treatment of battlefield injuries.

Trauma Assessment Training, or STAT, virtually simulates a patient to train medics for dealing with various trauma scenarios.

Based in Cambridge, Mass., Charles River Analytics works on various public- and private-sector research and development programs.
